Counsellor and Psycho-Spiritual Coach

The roads have been colourful and the path winding! My own healing journey started with Gabrielle Roth’s 5 Rhythms where stories of joy, shame, trauma, and grief danced to the surface. The journey deepened through my training at the Transpersonal Therapy Centre where I completed the three year professional Psychotherapy Training Diploma in 2008. I offer support and guidance with teen issues, parent-youth relationships, stress & anxiety, spiritual journey exploration, and life transitions. My commitment for ongoing self reflection, healing, and liberation is entwined in my every day, and I honour this opportunity to walk alongside and support you on your own path of self discovery and healing.

I have been working with teens for over 25 years both academically and emotionally supporting them through this incredible and essential transitional time of their lives. I have worked with teens who struggle to cope with the demands of school, are navigating issues in both friendship and family dynamics, are exploring identity or gender issues, and who are finding their way through the complex emotional landscape of becoming a whole and individuated self. Providing a safe and non judgmental space is essential for teens, and I focus on establishing a strong and spacious relational connection so that they feel comfortable to share and express themselves freely.

I also work with women who are experiencing the physical, emotional, and spiritual challenges of the transitional time we call the Menopause. Embracing spiritual changes during Menopause allows us to connect with self compassion & love, find meaning, purpose, peace, and fulfillment in our lives. This transitional time can bring with it turbulence and uncertainty. I offer both individual sessions and group workshops, which can be extremely supportive in exploring and finding meaning at this time of life.

Whether you are seeking guidance for relationships, anxiety, menopause, stress management, or teenage issues, our work together will be unique to your needs and lived experience. I integrate the teachings of Carl Jung, Gestalt Psychology, Reichian Therapy, Mindfulness, Relational work, Psychosynthesis, Movement, Visualization, and Eastern Traditions like Buddhist Meditation and Sri Aurobindo. Together, we will create a safe space for you to explore yourself, your subconscious, illuminate both the shadow and the light that lives within each of us, and how life’s challenges are often a gateway to self-realization!

Disclaimer: Please note that the three year psychotherapy training institute I graduated, The Transpersonal Therapy Centre, closed before CRPO was created, and I am not a Registered Psychotherapist which may address serious emotional, cognitive or behavioural disorders.

What this means for you: I have the training and experience similar to other therapists, however our sessions will not be covered under your benefit plan.

My loves have become simple. In the forest, on silent retreat with like minded soul warriors I find comfort and depth. On the dance floor, I delight in music from the four corners of the globe that spans lifetimes. With my beloved partner and step son, I find healing and home. If you can’t find me in any of those places, you can find me on the tennis court come rain or shine!

Questions You May Have

It’s common to come to therapy with questions. Here are answers to some of the most frequent ones I hear.

It is, and it is some of the work I find most important. The intersection of hormonal change, shifting identity, grief, and the resurfacing of things that never had adequate space is real, significant, and consistently undertreated. Many women in this stage of life have spent decades being reliable for everyone around them and arrive here not in crisis, but carrying more than they should be carrying alone. That is a legitimate and serious place to start.

Yes, and it is one of the things I feel most strongly about. The psychological dimensions of perimenopause and menopause — the anxiety, the low mood, the rage, the grief, the sense that your mind no longer feels like your own — are real, significant, and routinely dismissed. A ten-minute appointment with a checklist is not equipped to hold what this experience actually involves. Therapy is not a replacement for medical care, but it is often the only space where the full weight of what you are going through gets named honestly and taken seriously. If you have been leaving appointments feeling minimized, you are not imagining it.

No specific beliefs required. Spiritual counselling at Horizon Therapy offered through an approach called The Heart Path is about meaning, connection, and inner peace, not doctrine. It draws on mindfulness and a deeper exploration of who you are and what matters to you, separate from any religious framework. If you do have a faith tradition that’s important to you, that’s welcome in the room too. Spiritual counselling can sit alongside traditional therapy or on its own, depending on what you’re looking for. It’s for anyone who feels like something is missing, who is searching for a sense of purpose, or who wants support that goes beyond the cognitive and into something quieter and more essential.

Yes. I work with teens between 12 and 18, both in person in Toronto and online across Ontario. Adolescence is one of the most demanding periods of life, identity, social pressure, academic stress, family dynamics, and the beginning of figuring out who you actually are can all collide at once. Therapy for teens is collaborative and age-appropriate. It isn’t about fixing or reporting back to parents — it’s about giving them a space that’s genuinely theirs, where they can be honest without consequence. Common areas include anxiety, self-esteem, social difficulties, identity, and navigating relationships. For parents considering reaching out on behalf of their teen: you don’t need to wait for a crisis. If your teenager is struggling and starting to withdraw, that’s enough of a reason to get support in place.
