Neurodiversity Affirming Therapy
for Individuals and Couples

It is our differences that make us unique.

Do your sensory experiences of the world differ from those around you?

Being in a world that is not geared towards neurodiversity can make life more challenging. Our therapists believe in celebrating the diversity of our human brains and the ways in which we experience the world. We are knowledgeable about counselling and neurobiology and have lived experience as an ADHD’er, autistic or have a neurodiverse (ND) family member.

Healing from stigma and shame.

Many individuals experienced trauma at being treated as deficient, pressured to behave differently, learning to obscure parts of one’s self and mask behaviours. In therapy we will start by developing a safe relationship, getting to know you and what you have experienced in your life, and understanding how these experiences have impacted you.

Our therapists believe that everyone processes information differently and that it is our differences that make us unique.

Neurodiversity affirming therapy (NAT) will support you to explore your strengths and embrace and celebrate who you fully are. Whether you would like support with issues related to relationships, mental health, personal growth, career, school, illness, or family, our therapists will support you in ways that are meaningful and helpful to you. Modalities used in NAT may involve talk therapy, mindfulness, the arts, positive self talk, psycho-education, somatic & mind-body approaches, relaxation & guided imagery, problem solving, self compassion & self care practices, and practical strategies such as executive functioning and communication skills.
